The Commonwealth of Massachusetts has commissioned the members of the BOSTON HARBOR PILOT ASSOCIATION for all vessels entering and departing the Port of Boston. The BOSTON HARBOR PILOT ASSOCIATION has safely piloted vessels on the waters of Boston Harbor since 1783. We are the highest skilled and trained mariners servicing the District. All State Commissioned Boston Harbor Pilots are required to hold the highest professional mariners endorsement obtainable from the United States Coast Guard, Unlimited Ocean Master, We have served in the same capacity as the ship captains calling on the port. No one else operating in the harbor can make that claim or hold that experience. We are the only state and federal pilotage service operating 24/7/365.
